Students, faculty and staff in the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CoECS) have access to a variety of software that are both commercial and open source. The college aims to keep up-to-date with the latest software tools in order to help students, faculty and staff to stay on the cutting edge of learning and research.
If there is a software package that you wish to use that is not available, please contact us at help@eng.fau.edu so that we can look into your needs. When selecting new software tools, we consider the need, cost and availability of resources in making our decision.
Citrix Remote Access
For the college’s remote students, we provide access to the same software packages that are installed on our lab workstations via our Citrix Xen Application Platform. Through this gateway, remote users who have a broadband connection can access a variety of windows applications and display them as if they were running on their own desktops. VMware Remote Access
We also provide access to desktops as if physically using the lab computers. Through this gateway, remote users who have a broadband connection can access a variety of windows desktops.
